We were in Laguna Beach for the Pageant of the Masters and decided on South of Nick's for dinner. This is one of the most popular spots in town and we had to wait at least 20 minutes to be seated even with a reservation. Its ambiance has a beach club vibe with lots of people hanging out at the bar area. Noise level was high for everyone seemed to be having a great time. The service was good albeit a little slow bc the servers were very busy. The food was excellent. From the chips and dips to warm butter cake everything was on point. The birria enchiladas was one of the most popular dishes and for good reasons. The seafood enchiladas filled with lobster and shrimp was my favorite for the meal. I highly recommend this place for anyone visiting LB. BTW. They offer valet parking under the restaurant. They close at 11:00 so theoretically one can park and dine here then go to the Pageant and be in time to retrieve the car afterwards. The festival of the arts is a leisure 10 minute walk away.

South of nicks is one of my favorite date spots! It has a pretty view of Laguna beach. The service is always great, and the food/ drinks are amazing. FOOD: We recommend the shrimp taquitos, birria tacos and the seafood enchiladas. BUT be sure to get the butter cake... it's by far the best butter cake I've had.

I've thought about trying this place for the last year but really questioned if Nick could make an amazing ribeye sandwich and...mexican food. WOW is all I can say. The chef knocked this menu out go the park!! First time we went we got the shrimp ceviche, the shrimp diablo and the seafood relleno. We couldn't stop thinking about the ceviche so we came back the next week. This time we got the ceviche, the filet mignon ranchero with fresh corn tortillas (amazing) and the seafood enchiladas. How did it get even better?? The seafood enchiladas made my mouth explode. I will be back this weekend just for them. The fresh made chips and salsa are amazing (can we get an option for spicy salsa). Margaritas-YUM View- AMAZING!!! Now my only issue when eating in Laguna will be - ribeye sandwich or seafood enchiladas?? Thanks a lot Nick!
